Open Funkrophone- Wednesday open mic nights with Leo DiSanto
January 27, 2016
VCC singer-songwriter-guitarist Leo DiSanto has teamed up with the recently opened Funk Taproom in Elizabethtown, PA, to bring you Open Funkrophone. Every Wednesday night from 7-10pm the stage at Funk will be open to performers of all genres. Bring your instruments, your poetry or plays, your magic hats, your dancing bears (please leave your didgeridoos at home). All are welcome, from new performers looking for stage time to experienced performers looking for a low-pressure venue to experiment or just have a few laughs. We need ears too, so if you aren't a performer, come on out and lend us a couple.
Funk Brewing is located at 28 S. Market St. in Elizabethtown PA

What the Folk Music Festival Announced with Todd Snider Headlining Two Nights
Ford Productions presents the inaugural What the Folk Music Festival on April 11th and 12th at Sewee Outpost. The two day music festival features Todd Snider headlining each night as well as other bands such as The Bottle Rockets, Charlie Mars, Pierce Edens & the Dirty Work, Megan Jean & the KFB, Swamp Candy, Vinegar Creek Constituency, Sierra Elizabeth Ferrell, Doug Jones, Ryan Bonner and a few more surprise guests! Food trucks The Big Southern and Lowcountry Creole will be there along with two beer trucks with the local brews including Palmetto. Available through Stranger Tickets, admission is $25 on Friday, $35 on Saturday or $50 for limited two day pass. Additionally, camping is available for $20.
"What the Folk Festival was formed through a friendship with Todd Snider loving to play this area. The lineup are musicians that come close to emulating what Todd does as a singer/songwriter,” said festival organizer Brett Ford. “As we plan to make this an annual event, my goal is to continue to have Americana type groups play and get recognized for what they do, since the majority of them don't get the radio play or media recognition that they deserve."
A portion of proceeds will benefit Carolina Studios, a non-profit that provides at risk students a safe environment to foster creative, educational and career-focuses initiatives through music technology and media arts.
